Our Rooms
We offer co-ed dorms (male & female), female-only dorms, private rooms and queen beds in a bunk bed format.
Each bed has a large storage locker, reading light, fan, four plug outlet and privacy curtains. Bathrooms are individual units with sink, shower, toilet, and locking door for total privacy.

The World Famous Green Tortoise Adventure Travel began over 40 years ago, with one sturdy bus and the realization that beautiful places, great food, and sociable people were the only essentials for gratifying travel experiences.

The Green Tortoise Hostel is located at 105 Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98101 - just off the corner of 1st Avenue and across the street from the iconic Pike Place Market. We're in the heart of Seattle, and there are lots of ways to get to make it to the hostel.
From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
The Link Light Rail (1-Line) connects Sea-Tac Airport and Downtown Seattle with trains running every 15 minutes (from 5am-12am) for $3.
- - Take North and exit downtown at Symphony Station. Walk toward Union St to Pike St. Turn left on Pike St.
- - If you exit at Westlake Station, from Pine St walk toward 2nd Ave. Turn left at 2nd Ave and right at Pike St.
- - We are located on Pike St across from the Starbucks and above the Seattle Shirt Company.
Seattle Yellow Cab taxis can be found 24/7 on the third floor of the airport parking garage, and offer a $40 flat rate to the Downtown Seattle Hotel District. Rideshare apps Lyft and Uber are also widely available in the greater Seattle area, plus a range of taxi and shuttle services.

From King St (Amtrak) Station
From King St Station, take the Link Light Rail (1-Line) from International District/Chinatown Station
- - Take North and exit downtown at Symphony Station. Walk toward Union St to Pike St. Turn left on Pike St.

From Greyhound Bus Station
Walk west to take the Link Light Rail (1-Line) from Stadium Station.

From Bolt Bus Station
Take the stairs or elevator down to the bus tunnel and take any northbound bus (Bay A & B) to Westlake Station.

Car Parking
We have a special for guests with the West Edge (or Place) Garage on Pike & 2nd Ave to store your vehicle for the duration of your stay (please note the garage has no in-and-out privileges). Bring your stub to the hostel before paying for discounted parking at $21 per 24 hours. Current hours: 7am-7pm.
